ESI Trade Credentials

Listed below are the Trade Associations that we are members of, along with an explanation of why this is important to both your business and choice of electrical contractor.

Electrical Contractors Association (ECA)

The Electrical Contractors Association, representing the best in electrical engineering and building services.

The Association is dedicated to maintaining and improving industry standards by discussion and representation, and its dedication to best practice and efficient, effective and safe working procedures ensures members deliver the very best service across a broad spectrum of commissions.

The ECA seeks to promote and protect the interests of professional, competent and accountable businesses, and to support this provides a wide range of services covering the whole spectrum of its members commercial operations. Existing

National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC)

The National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) is an independent, charitable body that offers a voluntary regulatory service covering the UK. The NICEIC was created to ensure that consumers are protected from “unsafe and unsound electrical work.”

The NICEIC is a non-profit organisation and not a trade association, and therefore does not work in favour of the electrical contractors but as an independent regulatory system.

In order to provide a source in which to find safe and reliable electrical contactors, the NICEIC holds a Roll of Approved Contractors that undergoes a yearly assessment. Their work is checked against the IEE Wiring Regulations BS 7671 as well as other standards.

SafeContractor

SAFEcontractor is a health & safety accreditation scheme for contractors. It simplifies the process of demonstrating to clients that health & safety policies and procedures are in place.  The scheme assesses health & safety arrangements.  The scheme is recognised by many organisations who accept your SAFEcontractor certificate as confirmation of competency.

Many large organisations now use SAFEcontractor as their primary means of selecting contractors.

Trustmark

TrustMark is a new, award-winning scheme supported by the Government, consumer groups and building industry to help you find reputable firms to do repair, maintenance and improvement work inside and outside your home.If a firm displays our TrustMark logo you know that a trade association or other certification organisation that we have approved has checked the firm and found that it meets certain standards the Government has set.
